(Unit 13) Shirt and Sticker Design Ideas

T-shirt and Sticker Designs

In this part of my portfolio, I'm going to display some of the t-shirt and sticker designs I've created before settling on the final versions I'll be using. For t-shirts, I've come up with three sketches I found interesting and I've sketched a couple of sticker designs too. I'm planning to make the t-shirts about £8-£10 and the stickers free.

So as you can see, the three designs I created are quite different. The first includes quite a literal version of a 'flat cat' with the cat cartoonishly being flattened by a rolling pin. I think that this style come really be a hit or miss depending on the style it's final form is drawn in.

The next design incorporated some more colour, this is good for catching attention, but adds another paint to buy. I struggled with making this sketch look right, I knew what I wanted in my head but couldn't quite execute it.

Finally, e've got a drawing of a cat at the bottom and ther band name written out above. I think this is the design I'm going to go with as it's the most simple and since I\m doing the designs using stencils, I think this will give me the cleanest result. When I next update this blog post, I will have finished the final design and send it off to get stencils of the design.

So while I'm waiting for the stencils themselves to arrive, I decided to start designing some fun little stickers. For this I'm only going to be doing the sketches, the actual final designs will be created by my sister Ashley who is a tattoo artist. Here are some of the little ideas I came up with.

As you can see, I'm not the best artist but I'm hoping my sister can work on and build off these ideas. As soon as she finishes the designs I will be uploading them here and getting ready to print them onto sticker paper. I think my favourite designs so far are the cat with a spiked back and the fishbone.

I think, if drawn properly, the spiky back cat could be a great mascot sticker, as no one can resist stickers of cats and the fishbone is a nice simple play on cats so a great way to display our band name without distraction.
