Sketches of Solution to Broken Cigar Box
So unfortunately today, whilst I was using an electric tool to carve room for the pickups, I created too much pressure and the front of the cigar box broke into pieces, as you can see in the drawings below.
I decided that the obviosuly first step was to finish carving the wood and then apply super glue across all connected areas (the green lines) and add glued wooden joints beneath each for strength.
It worked great and the box will dry stronger soon but now you can just see cracks running along the box, which I don't like.
To combat this, I created a couple of ideas of how I could cover it up with tape.
And also potentially with a pick guard to stick with it being an instrument but this will be the most costly.
Ultimately I decided on the tape and tried to make it as clean as possible, here's a photo.
