Final Outcome

Final Product - My Finished Piece

My EPQ is now coming to an end as I display my final product and finish all the evaluations. Down below I've listed a series of photos displaying the final cigar box bass to look through.

- A photo with flash to demonstrate the reflective tape.

- A photo of me mid work adding the very final touches.

- Another image of the full bass, this time without flash.

- The final headstock which I shaped with a coping saw, sandpaper and files.

- A close up of the front of the body.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the progress I've made throughout this project and the final result. I wanted to undertake this project so I could enhance my knowledge of basses and the creation of them as I knew choosing a project within my influences would encourage me to work harder at it. I was aiming to try something new and outside of my comfort zone and I personally feel I've managed this. I got to improvise and try out new skills whilst gaining the confidence to do simple repairs with ease. Through my research I now know much more about the build of basses and I even got the opportunity to create my own fully functioning one! I'm glad to say this has encouraged me to continue creating instruments by using what I've learnt to improve and advise myself next time.
