Unit 9 - Mixing
In Pauls lessons for Unit 9 we've been tasked with fully mixing and mastering one of the songs we've been practicing with for the last couple of weeks. I decided to go with the song with Lee's vocals as this is the one I originally had the most fun mixing.
In particular I really wanted to experiment with using different Logic 'room' presets to explore how it can change my sound. One thing I've found I've really struggled with so far is the harmonica sound, trying to ensure it''s not too overpowering but still a clear feature of the song. I've also done a lot more bus-ing this year as last year I was doing it completely wrong, I find it really helpful to group some of my tracks and so much more efficient. I need to finish this mix as soon as possible so I can focus more on my main 3 song mixes for the CD Project.
