Unit 8 - Week 7

Today was our first day back at Llwyn Y Bryn. We had free time in the afternoon which my band and I used to regroup and mostly catch up with each other. We got a bit of rehearsal time in when the practice rooms became free but didn't really have enough time to do anything groundbreaking. My goal for this week isn't anything too stressful. I'd just like to get some rehearsal done and check that we're all feeling secure on each part of each track. As it's a thursday, I spent today rehearsing with my band Glass Star. We've gone over our newest song and I finally started to write some lyrics for it! They're not completed yet, but I'm much closer to knowing what I'd like the song to be about now. We've got a nice general idea of the structure of this new song and also went went over our others tracks just to ensure they stay fresh in our brain. Amber also brought in a prototype of our CD. She did this with the help of her father. We all choose a photo of ourselves to feature on a small booklet within the CD case. I think creating like a fake 'shattered glass' effect on one side of the CD jewel case would also be a very creative idea so we're looking into ways to get that done. I got some clips of Jack on the drums today as well as a small recording of the newest song. We don’t have a structure set in stone yet but it’s slowly coming together. On friday we did some more recording. We decided to focus on drums this time specifically for I Get It as it’s our longest track yet. Down below I’m going to insert some pictures I took of the microphone setup on the drum kit that I engineered as well as an image of the ‘finished’ song files we added to our group teams.
