Unit 1 - 3 Song Group Performance.
Down below is a video of my group and I's performance in the theatre. I will be giving a critical analysis of the three songs and deciding what I'd change if I did it again.
Firstly, I really enjoyed our order of songs, I thought they all fit well together and made a nice, varied set. I also enjoyed that I wasn't singing alone, it made my whole experience much less nerve-wrecking as I knew I had another voice there to support me should I go wrong. Another good thing about the performance was despite missing our drummer, I think we all worked well together and were mindful of each others skills and respective parts.
On the other hand, I wish I'd been more confident on the stage as I can see in the recording that posture wise I'm quite closed off and awkward which gave me very little stage presence. It's also unfortunate that our drummer could not be there as at times the timing was a little off since it's harder to keep a beat without a consistent drum beat. Furthermore, I used a phone to remember my lyrics to the songs as some were written very last minute.
If I could do the performance again I would make sure to learn all my lyrics and melodies beforehand so I'm sure I'm confident and knowledgable in what I'm singing. Additionally, I'd also have liked to have our drummer evidently however, I know that sometimes situations are unavoidable. Simply put, regardless of whether someones missing, I'd like for the rest of my band and I to still feel proud and correct in what we're doing instead of panicked. Finally, I want to work on my confidence in front of an audience so for future shows I can perform to the best of my abilities.
