Initial topics for the essay

• The making of Rumours (Fleetwood Mac)
• How cassette tapes are made.
• How the music industry changed in the 80's (rise of electronic music, prevalent artists)
• The differences in our current music.
• How the audience and its relationship with(a musician) has changed in the digital age.
• Ghostwriters: Why do some musicians hire them.
• Music and its impact on adolescent behaviour.
• How David Bowie impacted the music scene.
• Talk Talk Talk: How The Psychedelic Furs second album gained such popularity.

Favourite's so far:

• How cassette tapes are made.

Perhaps not interesting enough? Can explain HOW they're physically made and when but that's not going to be hard to explain. Maybe when they came into popularity, how they last, present day?

• Music and its impact on adolescent behaviour.

Can state how it potentially effects mental health, behaviour and identity. How not only the music but the bands themselves can alter the youths opinions as they try to imitate them. Provide examples of specific people? Quote research. It can effect blow flow and emotion control.

• Ghostwriters: Why do some musicians hire them.

Too broad of a topic, will need to be focused on one musician/band. Why do musicians who originally wrote their own music then turn to ghostwriters when their careers pick up? Why do ghostwriters decide to become ghostwriters? What's the difference between ghostwriters and ensuring you aren't instead stealing someones work.

• How the music industry changed in the 80's (rise of electronic music, prevalent artists)

Very big topic. Could focus on certain musicians? But that would change the purpose of my essay. Maybe talk solely about the music changes rather than influences. Learn more about the rise of electronic music.
